Toe Jam 08 stop #1

Toe Jam for me has always been about the “show”. I love seeing the best wakeskaters on the planet all in one place riding together pushing eachother to new heights. The first day was so much fun 50 + riders show up at the Projects in Bithlo Fl set to do battle on the rail park. There where 8 heats of 6-7, top 2 qualify to make up the 16 riders that would be competing over the next two days. I got an early heat and rode well qualifying into the tournament. With a huge smile on my face I sat and watched the rest of the heats of the day. The level of riding has never been higher. I love watching all the different styles and seeing where each rider goes on the course to edge out the completion.

Day two was a bit of a blur. Hahahaha I knew I wouldn’t have much of an impact on the wake part of the tournament so I spent the day getting wrapped up in the party side of Toe Jam, witch is really easy everyone at ToeJam is down to have a good time. Outdoor beer pong was where everything went blurry. It’s a good thing the tables faced the water so I could watch Grubby and Nicks killer lines, Reed’s mind blowing heel side Indy finger flip, Oh and Steve Campbell throw down one of the best all around boat runs ever. Flats, Lip, Wake, he killed it all.

Day three we where back over at the rail park for the final day of the Toe Jam tour opener. We all drew names to see witch one of the 16 we would go head to head with. I drew Grubb and was first off the dock in our heat. I really only had desire to do one trick. Backboard 270 shuv to back lip over the UGP aframe. I’ve had this trick in my head for a while and had stuck it a month earlier when I was visiting the Projects. I ended up hitting it on my second try and that made my whole weekend. Congrats to Nick Taylor who edged out Clint Tompkins for the win.

Thanks to everyone who came out and through down, and to everyone that came out to support. See you all at the second stop in Texas June 12 to the 14. If your down to hear more about Toe Jam stop #1 check out www.alliancewakeskate.com.

Party Ryan.

Utah Boat show

Living in Florida all year-round is so nice. Warm weather, warm water and a ton of cool people to chill and ride with. But when summer last all year you start to miss the snow the hills and the extremely free feeling of snowboarding. So when I was offered a ticket to go meet up with Pat for the Utah boat-show all I could think was “Park City”. As usual I had to battle my way through the airports for about 9 hours having to stop in St Louis so people could get off and some more get on; thanks southwest. I land in Snow, mountain and Park Paradise, also called Salt Lake City. I spent the first night with Chris and Wes at the Greenbands. They have this beautiful home right at the base of Park City in this cool little community of houses called Jeremy Ranch. I stopped by to see Benny and he hooked me up with a board, some paints and the sick brown striped jacket, I was stoked. We woke up early and Pat, Wes, Chris and I where on the hills around 9. We started off playing around in the first park for a little while. They had some flat bars; some cool inclines and like four little jumps down the middle. It was a super fun spot start the day and get warmed up. We rode down some back trails jibbing sign-posts pressing in the flats and popping off different dips and drops in the trail, as we made our way over to the bigger parks. I had a really good time on the mountain hanging with good friends and riding good snow. We spent the rest of my trip at the Utah boat show hitting the over 200 ft indoor pool-to-pool stunt Pat builds for them every year. For the first few days we had the wakeskate rail set up so I got to play on it a bit, have some fun. I also got to do some morning TV spots with Robby. On Friday we switched up to the wakeboard rail. Everyone was there Shane, Watson, Ruck, Danny Kevin, Andrew, even Shawn Murry and everyone was throwing down because the set up wasn’t janky, It was nice and well built. 6:00 am media sessions are pretty grueling but it’s really fun, once the day gets rolling, to jam on a really fun set up with your friends in front of a cheering crowd. Like previous years The Utah boat show was a blast. Thanks to the Greenbands, Marine Products, and Pat Panakos for putting on such a great show. Now it’s back to warm weather, sunshine and calm water… Oh ya.

Take Care everybody.

Moving to Fort Myers

What up everybody

After five years of living at the projects i'm moving. There's this little spot down in Fort Myers that everyone just calls " The Vista's". There's a few condo's on this dope little lake, a couple rails and some really cool people. So this is going to be my new place to live, my new place to train. I'm prety excited about the move and looking forward to my new diggs. I'll still be making trips to Orlando to guest coach at the projects and keep my finger on the pulse of the sport.

So wish me luck and i'll see you around.

Peace Ryan.
